Friday 22/03/2024 - The Frog & Fiddle, Cheltenham
Another fierce Friday night with the next instalment of 'Metal 2 The Masses' at Cheltenham's premio independent live music venue, The Frog and Fiddle.
Five more amazing top-tier bands battled it out for a spot in June's grand final. First on set were the blast beat thrash punk outfit ACCELERATED MUTATION.
Shortly followed by lyrical wizards and completely non-serious Cheltenham-based "blackened crust death dickheads" GORGONCHRIST. Technical kinks were worked out after the first song (plugging the bass into the amp helps) they had the crowd bopping along to hits such as "Lonely Wanker" and "Dick Pic Graveyard"
Melodic metallers FROZEN OCEANS then took to the stage with a headbanging set including their latest single Phoenix.
Next up, and firing on all cylinders right out the gate; were the eventual winners of the night, Gloucester-based metalcore trio AVIIRA.
Finally, bringing the house down with a bunch of energy (and a bunch of cookies, ifkyk) were contemporary alt-rockers CULT TREXY.
Once again, 'Metal 2 The Masses' proves that the Gloucestershire metal scene is as strong as ever.
